Our   Story

Absolute Time Productions is the DBA of San Francisco Stage & Film. Established in 2003, we have always focused on promoting the work by and/or about under-represented communities

From   the   beginning

Where   we   are   now

In our early years, San Francisco Stage & Film produced a stage play reading festival and a film festival every year. As artists, we realized that by the time we submitted scripts to a theatre, the script had to be a final draft even if the submission was for a staged reading. In 2007, we switched our focus on working with playwrights on developing their work in the early stages of a play through table reads in order to prepare their script for submission.
In 2016, we changed our name to Absolute Time Productions. We still produce table reads of plays for playwrights. We work with our resident artist, JC Samuels, on developing work for the stage and screen. We also work with virtual resident writers on developing work from table reads to staged readings.
